Role: Senior Product Designer

Job Location: Remote

Overview: We are looking for a Senior Product Designer with a passion finding solutions that allow customers to intuitively use our products.

You will Lead other designers and cross-functional team members and will rely heavily on both qualitative and quantitative data to make informed decisions. Your duties may also include training new employees and maintaining open communication with other departments during the design process.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution on the design system vision, infrastructure roll out, and ongoing system adoption
  • Design and detail systemic solutions across our ecosystem, constantly evolving patterns, testing and iterating on components, and raising the craft of Busha
  • Work closely with your team and other designers in defining and iterating on product features across web and mobile platforms
  • Set design requirements based on information from internal teams and user research
  • Modify and revise existing designs to meet changing customer preferences
  • Work with cross functional teams to leverage and contribute to every tier of the design system library infrastructure
  • Embed on special projects, supporting leads in broader strategic systems efforts
  • Maintain creative infrastructure needs, library upkeep, and triage incoming inquiries from design, product, engineering, etc.
  • Support ongoing systems-driven research initiatives
  • Design Personas and User journey maps
  • Drive and support cross-team initiatives that make the Design practice at Busha better, such as improving our hiring process, expanding our community presence, interviewing potential new team members, and much more
  • Facilitate training sessions with teams and individuals helping stand up local libraries that stem from our central system
  • Be an ear to the ground of the entire organisation, looking for dots that connects in our ecosystem day to day
  • Work in the way that works for you and what you're designing, whether that's spending time sketching or jumping straight into pixels and code

The ideal candidate must have;

  • 5-7 + years of experience working in user experience, product, or relevant design field
  • A passion for systems, patterns and a keen eye for consistency and the best in class user interface design
  • Proven track record of delivering quality design experiences and solving customers' problems through design
  • Proficiency with modern product technologies (airtable, notion, github etc) and a passion for Figma as your design tool of choice
  • Experience working with distributed teams in multiple time zones
  • Portfolio showcasing experiences you’ve designed for varying platforms and devices (iOS, Android, Restorative Web. etc.)
  • Have a well-trained eye for great visual design execution. You care about getting things right - one pixel off is a big deal.
  • The same love for brand as you do product
  • Passion for design; not satisfied with the status quo and always thinking of ways to improve
  • Be a keen problem solver - you enjoy thinking through complex product challenges and care about solving the right problem

Nice to haves;

  • Past projects that showcase designing in ecosystems that requires any of the following: global or local accessibility standards, translation, internationalization, localization
  • Experience working with design systems
  • Strong user interface and visual design fitness
  • A broad range of skills covering the design process end to end: user research, visual design, interaction design and prototyping
  • Knowledge of platform-specific patterns (e.g. iOS Human interface guidelines, Android Material guidelines)
  • Experience working with creative & art directors, motion designers, audio designers, and illustrators
